Happy 2011

In Asia the year of the rabbit almost starts. Still one month to go for this. Some people warn for the tiger's tail swing. Anyway it will go; enjoy 2011!

Ebato Kiyoshi

One of the artists exhibited in the public area of Kanazawa's 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan, is Ebato Kiyoshi.
His expressive miraculous paintings and drawings seem naive and frightening at the same time.
Also shown at the moment in Tokyo.

Public

Although it might be already old news, maybe it's still worth mentioning how public the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art by SANAA actualy is.Link
Only for the center of the buiding you need a ticket. This area houses the special and permanent exhibition. The permanent one is only around $5. The ring around it is free. It opened up the possibility to have four entrances instead of one. It makes the beautiful outdoor space to be heavily used.
The special and permanent exhibition house some well known names. But honestly, the public program is already worth coming.
Great work from curator, client and architect.

Sleep Along the Bridge

Infrastructural bridges are often build on beautiful locations. The idea of staying under it is maybe as old as the first bridge itself. But it might not always give the best view. Often you look towards the structure more than the river scene. Would it be possible to inhabit the sides of a bridge for a night? A bridge deck which cantilevers a little bit more on the sides? Hanging coin capsules? A highway bridge hotel?
