Although it might be already old news, maybe it's still worth mentioning how public the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art by SANAA actualy is.
Only for the center of the buiding you need a ticket. This area houses the special and permanent exhibition. The permanent one is only around $5. The ring around it is free. It opened up the possibility to have four entrances instead of one. It makes the beautiful outdoor space to be heavily used.
The special and permanent exhibition house some well known names. But honestly, the public program is already worth coming.
